Convert AIFF to MP3 Online — No Upload, No Watermark
AIFF is the uncompressed Apple equivalent of WAV — common in Logic Pro and GarageBand exports. Converting to MP3 gives you a small, universal audio file that every player, podcast host, and editor accepts without extra codecs.

Where AIFF files come from
AIFF is Apple's uncompressed audio format, the Mac counterpart to WAV. It comes out of Logic, GarageBand, older iTunes rips and Mac recording software, and is the same size per minute as WAV.
What changes when you convert AIFF to MP3
| Encoding | Uncompressed PCM encoded to MP3 at LAME V2 |
|---|---|
| File size | Roughly one tenth of the AIFF |
Worth knowing first
As with WAV, this is your lossless master becoming a distribution copy. Keep the AIFF if the project is still live, because any future export should start from it rather than from the MP3.
FAQ
Is AIFF different from WAV in quality?
No. Both store uncompressed PCM at the same rates and depths, and they are the same size for the same audio. The difference is byte order and metadata, and which platform grew up with which.
Why is my Logic bounce so large?
Because AIFF is uncompressed by design, so it stays exactly as big as the sample data whatever the music sounds like. Around 10 MB a minute for stereo CD quality is normal.
Can I convert back later?
You can produce an AIFF from the MP3, but the quality lost in the MP3 encode does not come back. Only the original AIFF is the master.
Is this AIFF to MP3 converter free, with no upload?
Yes. Conversion happens locally in your browser via FFmpeg WebAssembly — your audio never uploads. No signup and no watermark. Length is limited only by the memory your browser gives this tab, which is far smaller on a phone than on a computer.
